E&IM appointed to manage EXPEDITING activities for RELOCATE JAZAN-ABHA REFINED PRODUCTS PIPELINE FOR PIPELINE FACILITY.

Once complete, the pipeline will transport refined products such as gasoline and jet fuel from the refinery at Jizan to the loading facility in Abha.

The scope of work of this project involves construction of a 16-inch pipeline to transport refined products This project will be built in Saudi Arabia. The pipeline covers a distance of about 92 kilometres from the Jizan refinery to Abha, on the Red Sea coast. The work also entails construction of pumping stations, storage tanks and other associated facilities.

Piping System design and analysis is a very important field in any process and power industry. Piping system is analogous to blood circulating system in human body and is necessary for the life of the plant.

This piping system is one of the major requirements of the plant to be installed. The goal of quantification and analysis of pipe stresses is to provide safe design. There could be several designs that could be safe. A piping engineer would have a lot of scope to choose from such alternatives, the one which is most economical, or most suitable etc. Good piping system design is always a mixture of sound knowledge base in the basics and a lot of ingenuity. The aim of the project is to design and analyze piping system according to standard piping Codes. The design should prevent failure of piping system against over stresses due to: Sustained loadings which act on the piping system during its operating time.

While piping stress analysis is used to ensure:

1) Safety of piping and piping components

2) Safety of the supporting structures

 

THE FIRST WET DESULPHURIZATION PLANT IN THE CONTINENT

The Kusile power plant will consist of 6 turnkey units delivering 800MW each for a total of 4,800MW. This is enough power to meet the electricity needs of 3.5 million households in South Africa. On the project, GE oversaw the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) of turbine islands, air-cooled condensers and a wet flue gas desulphurization (WFGD) plant. The WFGD plant is an environmental control solution and is the first to be built on a power plant in Africa. While the project continues, Unit 1 and 2 of the power plant are already online, providing energy and further securing the country’s grid.

E&IM was appointed to secure expediting, inspection and logistic services.

On March 2020 an important partnership was forged between Desmet Ballestra and E&IM. Desmet Ballestra is world leader in Engineering & Technologies for Oils, Fats & Animal Feed Industry, Oleochemical & Biodiesel Industry and Detergents, Surfactants & Chemical Industry.

E&IM has been entrusted with many inspections and expediting services and on November 2020 E&IM has been assigned for Health and Safety services for Sokhna Phosphoric acid production plant in Egypt.

 The Phosphoric acid production plant is part of Sokhna Phosphatic & Compound Fertilizer Complex, a project between Desmet Ballestra in a consortium with the Egyptian company Petrojet.
